      Definitely more to say than I can answer in a comment! But I started out just connecting with local realtors through family and friends doing free shoots to build a portfolio, then paid work, and building my business. • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 21 час назад

      Haha, I've definitely encountered that before! The only solution is to not shoot in front of it and adjust you composition or focal length to not catch you in the first place. No way that I know of to remove myself from the mirror for video!

      @@AndreiRestrepo Thank you for your help and advice. I thought I have to shoot it and then do 2hours of editing trying to do some tricks to remove myself from the footages. In some areas it is too hard, imagine a modern bathroom with an fully mirrored wall in the opening. 😅🤔.

    Great video! So you recommend the Canon R5C for videography and the Canon R6 Mark II for photography. Do you think one of them could handle both tasks? If so, which one would that be?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 21 час назад

      Great question !! I think either camera can do both, really well. But for an easier workflow and convenience, I'd pick the R6 Mark II. For most of my career I've always had only one camera, and for the time I had only the R6 mark ii, it could do it all! I just came to the point where I would do shoots where I needed a second body and it became easier to have one camera rigged for video, and the other for photo. I'd pick the R6 mark ii to do it all because of the sensor stabilization that's amazing for photos, the way better battery life is a big reason for both photo & video, and a few other perks. Now, that's not to say that the R5C can't do both because it obviously can, but you need an external better solution for video shoots, no IBIS, and a bit bigger body than the R6 ii. So for one camera solution, I'd say the R6 mark ii would be best. Thanks for watching!

      I would for RE video work, it' looks great! The only other thing to consider is a zoom lens where you aren't just fixed at 12mm. Depends on if you also shoot other type of work where I zoom lens would be more valuable. Thanks for watching!

  • @maylonrojer130
    @maylonrojer130 День назад

    So for the tests he enabled crop sensor mode on the R6 and then you say they looked just as good? But in crop mode you are throwing away a lot of pixels from the R6 thus negating any IQ gains the R6 would give you in the first place. hope i am understanding this wront

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 21 час назад

      Yeah, I did do that for a few tests! You're right on what you said, but since they're different size sensors, it's hard to compare in the first place. I actually now use an R6 Mark ii & R5C. The r6 mark ii has gotten few updates and it's a great hybrid camera!

    My question to you, Andrei, is this for someone starting out in real estate photography. How did you construct your real estate business model (or matrix)? My dream work day is to only work within a particular county (after all, I lack the superhuman power of the Flash). So I will need a business plan that keeps me close to what I promised to my clients expectations. So for instance, a photoshoot is done on Monday and it's promised that shoots will be delivered 2 business days out on Wednesday; while more photos are taken for a different client with their shoots delivered on Thursday, and so forth? How do you stay organized?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 3 дня назад

      Hey! Bunch of good questions here. It definitely didn't happen overnight, 3 years in my actual business model, and it's finally a pretty well established business model! Haha. When I first started, I just did my best to connect with local realtors through any connections I had, produce the best work I could, and repeat over and over again. For organization like that, I recommend using a real estate based CRM. We use Aryeo where clients can request and book shoots and everything else you need. After you get to the point where you can't handle it all like I am, you start to bring on shooters, editors, admins, and so on to help keep running your business! You should also think about joining my community! being able to chat with other RE shooters just starting out or running their own business could be a huge help for you. Hi Andrei I'd like to see if you can expand on something. I am using the per photo pricing method with three packages - base, pro, premium. As you upgrade it includes more services. However, I leave room for add-ons at each level. I am thinking about going to the square footage model, but if I have a base price for each level, how do I handle the add-on services for each level. The add-ons will increase the AOV.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 5 дней назад

      Hey William! Good question. I would think just having base prices for each sqft tier, and the same add on's available for each one. The value will go up, the bigger the property and then the add on's. For example tier one 0-1999 sqft $250. But then add on's available like drone, video, virtual tour, etc. And she for tier 2 listing, 2000-2999 sqft. I think crunching some numbers with how you currently have it set up would be best if switching the model would work! Thanks for watching !

RE fixed a lot of those things where I can work a regular work schedule, weekends off, work with the same clients over and over again, hire and expand my business too.

    How can a business survive charging $170 to $200? imagine all the work you have to do just to have $1,000! I don't get it, I'm a professional cameraman with 25+ years in the market and don't know why the prices go so low for professional work!, maybe is just in the real state market or maybe its just the fact that today everybody can own a camera!

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 12 дней назад

      It’s the real estate market, but that’s not my pricing now. That was just an example and around the pricing when I first started. Our average order is between $500-$1000+ luckily! Another plus is now having another photographer that works in my business to handle the smaller shoots that are on the $200-$500 range so we can do more volume. Thanks for watching!

    Please suggest I want a blurry backround lens for my real estate videography where the host will move from room to room and describe the features of the house.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 14 дней назад

      The wider the lens, the less noticeable depth of field you'll have. I normally use a 15-35 RF 2.8 lens and I'll film the real estate shots at 15mm and then talking parts at 24-35mm. Not as wide, more but noticeable blurry background. So a zoom lens with a wide aperture like 2.8 would be my suggestion!

    Thank you, Andrei, I just came across your video and I LOVED IT! Can I ask you, How one charges for these types of videos? Is it a commission percentage on the sale?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 14 дней назад

      Hey! Thanks so much, appreciate it! Nope, just set rates based on the video content you deliver or by the size of the property is what I would suggest! We have our real estate photo & video packages divided up into sqft tiers so pricing is based on the size of the home since bigger size typically = more expensive and more work on our end to photograph and film!

    Hey Andrei! If I just wanted to do a walk through video - like a video property tour where I just walk around and show the property without any cuts, can I just use auto white balance? Wasn’t sure if you can do a property tour on a camera like you can on a smartphone.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 14 дней назад

      That's probably your best bet! Having Auto WB and Auto exposure somehow since WB and exposure will change from room to room. Exactly, just like a mobile phone would do it!

    Andrei thanks for this video on pricing. I'm just starting out and using the number of images model for pricing just to get started. I will tweak this as I get going. I have my prices on my website. What are your thoughts on showing pricing on the website?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 15 дней назад

      I think it’s totally fine! That way agents know exactly what the cost is so when they reach out they have probably already seen pricing. For us, I don’t show pricing in case we get approached by other work outside of real estate. Thanks for watching!

    Hello and thank you for all your hard work. Which gimbal would you recommend for an iPhone 14 Pro Max in a Beastgrip cage with a Beastgrip 1.33 anamorphic? Thank you and be well. -Matt

      @AndreiRestrepo 15 дней назад

      Thanks so much! I’d recommend the osmo mobile gimbal line by DJI, I hear those are great! If your setup is too heavy for them with the cage and lens adapter, then probably the rs3 mini would be good!

    i think turning on a fireplace is ok or fans but turning on the stove or faucet its kinda cringey to me. ultimately the only way to bring life to the shot is with movement and people.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 17 дней назад

      Just something I've always seen done! Pretty much any way I can add movement or things being done in the shot vs just a static looking video clip. That's why I do a good amount of lifestyle real estate videos with people in them! Thanks for watching

    Full manual.. ? No auto ISO. Is it generally a poor technique to shoot a scene where the camera adjusts light from one room to another - or from continuous indoor to outdoor. Camera doing it's own thing, perhaps better to use cuts and manual exposed shots - thinking out loud - just got the RS3 to match same lens and camera set up. Heaps more to think about than still photographs.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 17 дней назад

      Yeah, fully manual! If I said that, I definitely did not mean to, I se everything manually so the camera doesn't change any settings through the shot. Short clips of each space, and then put together in editing. Thanks for watching!

    • @matt79hz
      @matt79hz 17 дней назад

      @@AndreiRestrepovery cool. I think agents, and a lot of people, like the idea of a "walkthrough" from one room to outdoors or a different space, often with speed ramps. How do you manage these shots without exposure adjust through the shot ?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 5 дней назад

      You can speed ramp different clips together for that very reason since exposure wouldn't match! Just merge them on the fast part and motion blur a bit to hide the clip change

    Great video, amazing photos…i was wondering about the the beauty dish..did you set it as a beauty dish or took of the plate and used it as a soft box, also what color was it inside white or silver… thank you mate

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 18 дней назад

      Thanks so much, means a lot! It’s a beauty dish softbox so the dish stays in the center to spread the light and then the softbox is double diffused. This is the 34in version that’s silver on the inside, but now I use a 42in that’s white on the inside, love it! Thanks for watching
